I have done a little more research, and had an expert come out to my house to take a look at my furnace. It turns out that yes indeed it is from when my house was built (1895). Currently it burns at 160,000 btu's and is less than 50% efficent. The cost of replacement for a standered furnace today??? ($8,800) plus removal ($1,500). How much for an enrgy efficent one?
